Post-Surgical Rehabilitation

Restore Function and Get Back to the Activities You Love!

Post-surgical rehabilitation is provided to patients who have undergone a surgical procedure. Post surgical rehab is aimed to progress weight-bearing activities, increase range of motion, and aid in strengthening the affected area. At REHABILITY, our goal for your post-surgical rehabilitation is to restore your previous level of functioning including a successful return to activities of daily living, work, recreational activities, and sports.

Our specialists work very closely with your surgeon to monitor your progress and advance your treatment following the protocols and guidelines set forth by your physician. Our therapists will review short and long term goals for treatment as well as any precautions to your condition.

Common Post-Surgical Orthopedic Rehab Cases Include (not limited to):

  • Rotator cuff repairs
  • Total joint replacements (shoulder, hip, knee)
  • Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction
  • Arthroscopic knee surgeries (such as meniscectomies, meniscal repairs)
  • Arthroscopic hip surgeries (such as labral repairs)
  • Achilles tendon repairs
  • Nerve releases (such as cubital tunnel, radial tunnel, carpal tunnel, tarsal tunnel)
  • Neck and back surgery (such as fusions, laminectomy, surgical decompression)
  • Surgical fixation of fractures of the arms and legs

In some cases, your surgeon may recommend a “pre-operative” rehab. Pre-operative therapy aims to decrease inflammation, facilitate range of motion, and increase muscle functioning with the goal of reducing the amount of treatment and recovery time necessary after surgery.  At REHABILITY, our pre-operative goals also include educating patients about what to expect following their scheduled procedure so they may prepare accordingly.
